Easter activities at Sussex Fostering

What is happening this Easter at Sussex Fostering

Sussex Fostering offers between 15-20 activity days a year for our children and young people (carers birth children are included in all of these activities). The actual activities planned depend on the season and are age appropriate. This year our Easter egg hunt activity day is going to start with a nature trail. Full of fun and nature watching which we hope will bring the young people a great deal of fun and interest in the natural world right on their ‘door step’.

The day will start with a walk in the woods.  The young people will be tasked with completing a Nature trail questionnaire. They will be asked questions such as: “Can you see different sized holes in the banks and trees?  What do you think made them?” The aim of this is to encourage the children and young people to look at their surroundings and learn more about nature in a fun and interesting way. During the walk, each young person will collect a branch which will be used to make an Easter decoration (using a variety of different crafts).

Following the walk, we will make Easter nest cakes and have a fun afternoon of activities which will include an Easter egg hunt and an egg throwing race.
